This is in fact a repainted 1994 Explosif with 97 decals. The seller has now added a photo showing the characteristic fluting on the Tange Prestige Ultimate down tube. He tells me it has a 58cm c-c top tube, so that means it's a 94 and not a 93 (so the frame is suspension-adjusted).

However the statements about 853 or scandium or limited edition are all untrue, but I would imagine they're all just innocent mistakes.

And no frame is Jett-adjusted, as far as I'm aware. I didn't ask him how such an awful fork came to be sharing a bike with all that nice kit.
