Kona Explosif 1991

This a purple 1991 Kona Explosif with Suntour XC Comp groupset.
The picture show it as it was built up in its original glory. I then went Singlespeed and it is now in bits as I have another singlespeed project.

The paint work looks more blue now as it has faded in the sun.
The thread on the crankset bolt is not good so it will be an effort to remove the crankset.
Overall its a little neglected so it is a nice project to restore it to its former glory.

Its an 18" frame.

just found your image of the '91 explosif and had to register to add a comment. This document brings back fanastically vivid memories of autumn winter '91, trying to workout how to buy one of these things. after drooling over it for ages, I went to the mountain bike show in alexandra palace, met Joe Murray and found the last purple 17" bike in the country. I then proceeded to spend almost all my first term's grant on the thing. - no regrets. have it today in almost original form. A fb bike that I will never part from.
