i really want this im thinking a guybe esque clean non original build a nice basic colour as lets face it matching the std paint will be impossible!
The paint looks in pretty good condition and is half the value of the frame, so why change it?
is it? maybe my screens bad it looks awful to me ill let you know when i get it though!
Tastes differ, I respect yours, but personally I think there's nothing wrong with a 1990 bike looking 18 years old, in fact that's how it ought to look. And I wouldn't sacrifice a Paul Brodie paint job unless there was a rust issue.

I have here a resprayed Kilauea. It was well painted, but I'd say it now has well over 100 stone chips on it (haven't bothered to count), each of them white, so it looks bloody awful. Which is the problem with resprays. And Mr Kawasaki just bought a resprayed 1991 Explosif frame for £30. With original paint and decals it would have fetched £100.

Anyway I might yet be moved to save this work of art from your evil intentions, so it might be me letting you know!

I agree with Anthony's views on resprays-
Why is it that a resprayed frame chips so easily? Surely spraying a bare metal frame is the same whether it is new or used??

BTW I have the velocity stem and XC LTD mechs and shifters as pictured all in mint condition which may tidy the bike up a wee bit.

It looks to be in pretty good survivor spec to me, though that's my least favourite of all the splatter explosif paint jobs.

I guess it depend on the owner of bike, whether you have it resprayed your choice of colour or have it the same as original, of course it will lose the valve as the paint is not original but if there is rusts, chips and marks on it then I would rather have it resprayed, freshly resprayed bike looked better than a tatty one no doubt, wet paint looked good but prone to chips if the bike is used for off road, but powder coated is cheaper and durable, I have had a few frames done and will use them again. I like most Kona colours but rather pick a colour of my choice, white seem to be a great colour if you put colour bits on it and never get tired off it.

End of the day, it's your choice if you are the owner of the bike as you will be riding the bike.

Ditto, I have never been bothered about such things though.

Perfection is boring.
