or just stick some better brake pads in them cantis.i fitted v brakes to my kona and hated them so i got some ritchey pads and used the cantis with avid v brake levers.

My idea is to use a (I assume) 30.0 seat clamp, hinged style. use a barrel adjuster (various sizes, the inline things. Rotate the clamp and bolt it through, nut the other side. Many might take internal nuts.

Or remove the Q/R bosses and use a normal setup.

Some good ideas there, I'm going to start building it tomorrow and to save spending any more money its going to either be Bens clamp on stop which is the sensible option or a full length outer but I think that may look crap.

I've just done the conversion using an Acor frame clamp on my 1994 Lava Dome - it works very well.
