Kona Cinder Cone or Lava Dome (maybe) '91

Bit of an update....

I've replaced some of the less appropriate parts ie brakes, levers and chainset with some more M570 stuff, I think it's an improvement.

Flexstem has gone, liked the ride but it looked a right pig.

Tyres have been replaced with a set with more tread, I did like the Panaracers but they were well worn.

Lastly the cheapo ebay decals have gone and I've made my own on the 'puter. Yes once again they're a bit mix n match and a few years too late but that style is my favourite of the 90's Konas. Took me ages to edit them to make them all black, some were sourced from the internet and some done from photos.

The name? Well I never did find out whether it was a Fire Mountain, Hahanna, Lava Dome or Cinder Cone so for now at least it's a "Jive Turkey"

It's all ready to go for tomorrow's Bonfire Bonanza Forest of Dean Ride. The bike had it's first outing there around this time last year but didn't finish the day due to Mark sinnett's crash. Hoping for better fortune this time :D .

Love that bike, better than anything kona could build

Thanks for the comment but I'd much rather have most of the factory specced Konas that I've seen on here. There's also something that doesn't come across in the photos.................it weighs a ton!

Can't complain though as it did the job for me yesterday and does ride surprisingly well :D .

Cheers beechdaleboy, stickers look a bit worse for wear now as I took the bike out when the laquer hadn't hardened off properly. Will redo them (still got them on file) when I get chance and give them more laquer and more time to dry.
