(I really hope it is OK to post this in here - if not, admin please contact me - I was recommended to post it here again as a much more popular forum for Kona fans!?)

Hello guys, I work at the Kona Bike Shop UK in Chertsey, Kona's only outlet store over here. We have been around for years, but the store moved during Covid to a swanky new store and we never got a chance to launch it fully. So we are hosting a store launch, and I'd love to invite our Kona loving Retro community down to see the place and check out some bikes. Aside from selling epic new full suspension, trail, gravel and hybrid bikes, our busy workshop often restores retro Kona's, many of which people have seen in my thread here:

The store launch is 19 March 2022. There will be lots of special bikes, some of our latest and greatest on display. But we would love it if some retro riders would bring down their classic builds to show us, have a chat, we will be providing food and drink, and maybe we will run a retro competition, best Retro of the day? With some free swag. Lets see if you guys are interested and can come?

Sadly too far for me to travel. I'd love to visit with my first year Explosif

That would have been great if you could!
We now have Alasdair McAlley coming along, with his 1997 Hot, Explosif and Caldera which I think are known on here?

If there's space, pop yourself in as well

Looking forward to checking out the new stuff and chatting nonsense about old bikes 👍

You've got the best job in the universe in r kid. I'd love to be able to spend my time surrounded by the beautiful offerings from Kona but also getting to restore vintage models as well! Absolutely brilliant. I'd have come up with my favourite 99 muni mula (complete with girvin vector fork's) but alas, it be too far away from me 😟

I can bring my ‘97 Hei Hei King Kahuna. It is retro-mod, but even the ‘new’ kit on it is 20 years old! Porcupines or amberwalls?

Nothing wrong with Retro-Mod.
I ride a Retromod myself. It may or may not be there on the day, need to leave some space for your proper retros!
We have loads of really awesome new bikes too, so need to provide a balance. It sounds like we have some incredible retro bikes that will be there to hopefully sate those that come to see them!

Cheers

Ben
