What year were these from? What do you know about them? I bought the bike so interested to know more

Afraid not. Pre 2005 is the best I've got to. Look nice though.

They are early 90s. I can remember seeing a review in mbuk.

I have a set, they also came with a Kona so I don't know any more about them than you. I'd guess early to mid '90s too based on the fact they came on a '93 frame. They look very nice but I still haven't found a bike to put them on.

I wonder what the link is with Kona? An upgrade option in the UK, through a specific dealer or just a coincidence?

Just a coincidence I'd bet, when I got the frame I also got the original Velocity stem (which I ended up using instead) so the previous owner had replaced it themselves. Maybe just owners who wanted but couldn't afford the Kona Ti stem and bars which were pretty expensive even back then!
