Re:

managed to get the wheels sorted out at last, didn't use the Ritchey rims scored some NOS 28 hole Araya RM395 Team XC, Ideally was looking for some Bontrager/Weinman BCX Red rims but no joy, these are light enough (400gms) with a lovely finish & not pressed together like Mavics. Laced them up to Mig Mags using Sapim CX-Rays, decided against using Titanium Spokes in the end to many negative stories. I was going to radially lace the front & 2 cross the rear but was warned against it so opted for straight up 3 cross F&R, finished in a set of NOS Klein Deathgrips,Managed to get some instinct grips to match.
Choosing cranks was a bit of a quandry these where the idea but missed out on these beauts by an hour  viewtopic.php?f=2&t=348451&p=2632152&hilit=storck#p2632152
So what was it to be circa'97 ? Caramba's, Race Face, Topline, TNT, Syncros ??? Whatever it was it wasn't going to be M950. So I opted for some Tune Fast Foot in Black a tad mod but..., am looking for a six pack BB if anyone has one ??

Re:Update

What was inside the seat tube ?? The remnants of an old stuck Thompson post, with a bit of fettling & the use of some Loooong handled Needle nose pliers a Looong handle screw driver used as a chisel/pry lever, lots of WD 40 & copious amounts of swearing out it came !!!. The next problem was the replacement Thompson post wouldn't fit, so I bought some wire brushes & had the head welded on to some steel rod , which used to remove the build up of crap down the tube. Hey presto the new tube fits !

So what's it weighing in at ?

And how much weight was saved by finding/removing the seat post, that must have been once seized mamma to get bust off in the first place.

Re:

The Forks which weigh just shy of 1900 gms so they're pretty heavy, I don't really know as I've misplaced my luggage scales so I've not weighed it whole. It feels a lot heavier than my Lightening though. so Over 21lbs, Would like some Strata to really feel the weight difference or some Englund internal Judy's. Yeah it looked like some previous owner had the similar problem & instead of taking the time to remove the post hammered it in to the seat tube burying it , out of sight out of mind sort of thing. As for the weight difference I didn't weigh the removed portion of post so I don;t know what the difference is, the new post is 420 mm long so could have cut it down to save weight.the stuck portion of the post wasn't allowing the old post to fully sit in the tube so It had to be removed to allow the new tube to sit in t properly.
