I have made my bike a 7speed, and of course the chain keeps coming off. I want a largish old chain ring that will fit a standard shimano deore 4 bolt crank that I can a. grind the teeth off b. fit as a chain holderoner on the outer position whilst using my 44 tooth drive ring in the middle position.
So the ring does not have to be top condition, prefferably black though.. Don't know how big it needs to be though, to be same size as a 44 tooth ring, when it has had all the teeth taken off..
