Hi there!

And check the cable stop up front. It may well be drilled out, too. That would be something to fix before painting.

Bugger, thought I'd double check all the front cable stops.

Just had a look and yep, unfortunately the brake one has indeed been drilled.

Any ideas how this could be fixed?

One option would be to run a full length outer cable to the rear i guess. Though the cable stop on the bridge may be a problem.

You can turn a ferrule (or have someone do it) that you then glue into the frame. That's what I did.



I my case the "hole" was very mangeled, too. Not just drilled out. I had to file it back a few mm. I will fill that gap and the file marks with JB Weld.

Ah, very good idea.

I'm sure I'll have something that will fit (or can have one made) and can be bonded in place.

Links can be found in my signature below. The above one is the 1998 Zaskar, but the 1991 Zaskar is probably the more fulfilling restoration; literally a barn find frame to a finished bike.

For me there's something very therapeutic about fitting decal and it really brings a frame/bike to life. (Although well aware Klein frames would have been debossed graphics, but the yellow may just be temporary).

I used Vinevo's great thread on his Rascal build as a guide for placement.

I brought the bike through from the garage about an hour before to get it up to room temperature.
