Hi all.

Can i pick a brain or tow? I'm hoping someone here has some experience with the fitting of the Klein Q Pro Carbon headset and fork.

I've recently bought a frame to build up. It came with a Cane Creek IS-6 integrated headset.

However when i fit the fork into the head tube, the bottom race on the fork crown pushes quite deep into the frame. I assumed it would sit flush with the bottom end of the head tube.

Is this correct. It has been mentioned that i can fit the fork with a dab of loctite on the outside of the bottom race then 'glue' it in place. Surely this is a week point as soon as i hit a bump and the fork would then just push further into its natural position in the frame.

Any ideas or advice, is it supposed to sit deep into the head tube? I think its about 3mm deep when pushed home.

Thanks
Tom

I believe the one i have is compatible. The frame came from someone who had built it up before on that headset.

I cannot believe that the Loctite is a sensible answer. Indeed the weight will push it down. I would go back and check the headset is right - there are a whole load of differences and the one fitted may indeed go inside but be resting on the wrong part of the head tube or at the wrong angle. I haven't come across a fork fitting inside - usually it's flush with a 0.5mm gap or so. But I am not familiar with the details of your frame. Certainly some photos have a very odd-looking fork arrangement, like below:

Alternatively go to a really decent shop for their advice. But I think the first port of call should be the importer.
