the Pulse is the lightest frame only because the Attitude has the heavier airhead head tube. i still think that a bare 2" DT Adroit frame might be lighter than a Pulse frame for it's "much" lighter downtube.

the frame was designed around the Mag21 and Judy so not more than say 65mm travel. It has a pretty quick steering so a somewhat longer fork doesn't harm it too much. Rigid fork should have 410-420mm height, not more. The early Pace RC-31 go really nicely with this frame! No V-brakes on the rear unless you either drill the cable outlet on the top tube or use a V-brake adapter.

Cranks are determined by the spindle length that's in there unless you want to swap it out.

31.6mm seat post and have it long enough so that at least 1" is below bottom of top tube. 1 1/8" head set.

May I suggest a nice simple build - black LX groupset, MC1 bar and stem, syncros post and black rims. Amber wall tyres are a MUST!

MC1 is 1" so you'd either need a shim inside the 1 1/8 fork steerer tube or reducers/CK devolution to mount a 1" head set and fork. don't think it is worth it just to have a Klein stem on it.
