Klein Pulse 1997

Retro Newbie
Hi,

I'm new on here and was looking for some advice. I recently bought a Klein Pulse 1997 frame which is in need of some TLC. I would like to buy some forks that would complement the frame but am unsure what would be a good choice. Can anyone out there help me with some suggestions or even better, offer me a pair that would be suitable?

I am going to get the frame repainted as it is in dire need. Again, if anyone knows a paintshop in the London area that would do a good job, that would be much appreciated.

Thanks for any advice/suggestions.

The original spec was Rock Shox Indy C.

Though I'd imagine you'd want to upgrade from that. I've put rigid forks on mine but even though I think it looks cool it doesn't half rattle your fillings :)

I saw a fellow RB'er used some Cannondale rigid forks on his rebuild. Does the Pulse use 1 1/8 threadless headset and if so would any fork of that size be suitable?

I was thiking urban single speed for my pulse in which case the rigid fork idea has some merit....lighter, simpler and can be colour coded a la the frameset which I have also seen done on this forum and I think very succesfully.

Yep it's a standard 1 1/8 headset. So any fork with a long enough steerer. I've put an On-One rigid fork on mine and think it looks really nice as the frame is so fat and the fork is quite delicate. But that's just my taste. I've avoided colour coding and gone for a black fork to contrast with the red of the frame, and I'm about to have the frame painted bright orange! All black accessories and decals etc. I realise it isn't a "proper" Klein but it is a great frame that makes you want to go fast and is brilliant in traffic as it handles so well.
