FYI and just in case someone still reads this thread nowadays, the 10mm difference is because the purple one isn't a regular front hub: it's the 1st edition of the Suspension aka "Mombo" front hub. This model also had some issues so was re-engineered in a 2nd iteration. You can read more about this at http://www.bikepro.com/products/hubs/hubs_pulstar.html

Keep the shell, dump the rest, get proper bearings and maybe a titanium aftermarket axle and done you got a nice Pulstar hub again. The shell seems legit.

Hmm taking a closer look to compare with the original ones (the purple is the original one) with the silver and gunmetal ones, the shell is also different.
The lenght is about ± 10mm wider.

I picked up a wheelset with pulstar closed bearings recently for a project. Seems the front is missing its hubcaps.
Anyone have an opinion or idea on which caps would be the best fit w Pulstar?
Again- closed bearings, so do I need caps? I have read the bikerpro write-up. Will have to revisit this a few times. I am an amateur. There seems to be a right and a wrong way to install these. Had a mechanic service them to change the bearings and freehub. Not sure what’s been done.
