Klein MC1 stem/handlebar combo for Adroit/Attitude/Adept

quill or not !!

yer it is confusing isnt it ! , well it is obviously a quill mc-1 , but i just dont think its a 1", how ever i think you can run a reducer to make a 1" quill work. its a very nice adroit !!!!! why do you need another mc1 when it has a set on allready ? oh yea people and by the way if that gator fade mc1 is a 1" quill i want it and ill fight anyone for it !!!!!!!!!! ha ha

The MC1 Adroit uses a ~1.5" special size quill size for stem so the 1" model is no good. The Gator MC1 for sale is this larger size which suits Adroit, Attitude and Adept bikes, NOT Pinnacles or Rascals.

Id better have this one then Kai as the one I bought was for 1". My error.

Adroits/Attitudes/Adepts need stems with 31.8mm (1 1/4") diameter quill. that is NOT the standard 1 1/4" quill stem which has 28.6mm (1 1/8")diameter. the stem sizes are determined by the OUTER diameter of the threaded fork steerer tube, not the inner diameter.

beside those Adroit/Attitude/Adept specific MC1s Klein made MC1 bar/stem combos for the 1" forks (22.2mm quill diameter). they came on Rascal and Pinnacle but were also sold seperately.

as he noted Kai's Gator MC1 will not work on any other bike than the MC1 era Attitude/Adroit/Adept. so yes, it would work on Jez' new Adroit...

re-spray !

hey jez,
not that its any of my business but you did post the picture of your new adroit on this link saying you needed a mc1 to fit it , as it has forks and a mc1.......... i assume you are only buying the frame. my point is ............. surely you arnt thinking of getting the gator fade mc1 re-sprayed black are you ? i just think it would be a shame to spray over the very hard to find gator finish ! couln't you just look out for a black mc1 ?
anyway i look forward to seeing the finished build even if you do re-spray the mc1 !!!

yeh I know - its a crime to cover up a decent paintjob but it will need to be done.

I could look out for a black one but I think these things are getting rare now.

hi im after a 1" quill gatorfade mc1 bar and stem combo, if you have one can i buy it please ?
typical !!! jez has a 1" mc1 in black (i need a gatorfade) the other one that was for sale is a 1 1/4" quill gatorfade ( jez needs a black one ). if that makes any sense.
