Klein Holy Grail-If you want to install V-Brakes that is.:)

So a guy walks into a bike shop to pick up his 95 Attitude after getting the headset bearings replaced. He hands the shop employee his claim ticket, employee walks into the back to get the frame and when the guy his handed his frame he notices a baggie attached to the frame.
The guy asks "what's this?" and with further inspection realizes that it is something he has been searching for. A Klein rear V-Brake adapter.
When they guy was dropping his Klein off for the bearing replace he mentioned his dilemma about having a stem with no noodle to hang canti's up front and having to run V's but not being able to run V's in the back. The shop employee told this to the mechanic and the mechanic, a klein guy, happened to have one "laying" around. So, $40 for the labor to replace the bearings and $15 for the adapter, the guy walked out very happy.:):)
I think the last one that I saw was on ebay almost 2 years ago and went for a little under $200.
I have already asked to see if they have any more "laying" around. I am supposed to get a call this afternoon.
Stay tuned.

Hope you get that call, this is exactly what I'm looking for at the moment so I don't have to run a full cable length along the frame.

this is how they came NOS...klein delivered the driller with it
but it just made the cable outlet a LITTLE larger. in some wholes the adapter fittet even without drilling.
so when the adapter was used and the whole drilled correctly, the frame is not really "drilled" in common sense, as like for maguras or to put through a complete outer cable.
so i think klein made a good job with this thing to mount v-brakes without doing really BAD damage to the frame.

Klein adaptor

If one of you guys are prepared to draw this part I am prepared to get some reproductions manufactured.

The devil as always is in the detail :D

There was a chap in readers bikes who'd made his own for his Attitude. Did a real neat job too, sure you cold find it...

if we think of the same guy (horizon attitude) he made a very nice inlay for a frame which had already a big whole drilled in for maguras/v-brakes outer cable, the adapter was then to mount cantilevers again...in this case its not really easy to solve the liner issue...

i also have a drilled adroit and used a kind of rubber inlay:

That's what it is!

I've had one of those knocking about in my spares draw for a good while now...

...do I ebay it
