Klein headtube diameter

Just wondering what size the headtubes were on the Kleins with an integrated bar and stem. I've seen a set for sale and the guy seems to think that the stem is to fit a 1.5" steerer tube? I'm not familiar with this size can anyone shed some light on this? Is the seller mistaken?

I believe it 1 9/16" but it really doesn't matter what the size is. Klein Attiude/Adroits stem/bars, whether MC1 or MC2 will only on these two models, period. So if it's an Attitude MC1 stem/bar, it will fit. If it's not, it won't fit.

It might help if you were to tell us what you want to do, i.e. I have an Attitude and I need a new stem... Are you looking for MC1 or MC2? The MC2 headtube tapers and MC2 had two "flanges" on it, so it matters where you measure it Photos might also be helpful. I don't have photos handy, can anyone else help with this? Carsten?

Thanks for the reply. I'm looking to build up a Klein over, well, however long it takes. Since I started looking, I have seen many Klein framesets sell, but without the stem-bar combo. The model of bar is MC2 by the way. It seems a good price and I thought I may as well buy it if it's a good price. I don't even have a frame yet! and probably won't have enough money for a little while, just bought a new hardtail. Maybe if different stems fit different framesets etc I'd better wait until I have the frame . Just seems a shame to miss a good deal, in my inexperienced eyes anyway.

Yes, that is an MC2. This will fit any Attitude/Adroit from 94-96. Can't tell for sure from the picture but it looks like it included a collet (threaded and slotted, machined insert that clamps onto the headtube). It's good that you have this. It never hurts to have an extra one as they are Klein specific. I've got an extra bar/stem, collet, and rockshox crown for MC2's as I'm thinking waaaaaaay down the road in case something is damaged.

Most of the Attitudes that I've seen have come with the stem and bar, but some don't. Be aware that road and mtb versions of MC2 are different sizes, so a road collet won't fit mtb.
