Klein Attitude Brake Boss winding

Hi,

i am writing from Germany an i own a 1991er Klein Attitude. Unfortunaltely one of the brake bosses (hope this is the right word for the connectors between the brake and the fork) is damaged and i need a new one. All i can get/find does have a metric winding M8.

Does anybody know which winding does the Klein have (maybe 5/16 inch) and where could i get a new one?

Hi there, you are correct. The thread is 5/16 x 18 (7.96mm). Indeed this is a rare size nowadays, I drilled mine out and tapped them to M10 for modern fitments (sacrilidge...I here you shout........) as mine were knackered. Up to you how you fix them, no doubt a competent machine shop could reproduce some for you.

i measured it today at work and it is 5/16 x 18.

That was my next idea, to take a M10 and cut it down to 5/16.

it seems that this is the right part.

Does anybody else know a dealer who sells the needed brake bosses?

Yes, that seems correct. I wish I had seen them before drilling out my frame!! Nevermind, My aluminium M10 studs should be lighter, I hope!!
