Now, Id like to point out my impressions of Pace frames:
I own a Pace f4. Had it since 1995 time and it was my main rider for many years and even though it didnt get a massive pounding I was thoroughly impressed with it and still cant imagine selling it (even tho its hanging there on a eg unbuilt at the moment)
They ride very very well - I always found them incredibly quick and nippy - and indeed a good upgrade from the steel Kona I was previously used to. Infact I found the geometry similar and felt at home straight away riding it.
Whats put me off in the last few years is the amount of broken frames that have appeared. They really werent as "bombproof" a MBUK used to term them as.
Whether this has to do with the fact that they are essentially a native frameset to these shores in the UK, and due to their popularity, the odds of coming across broken ones is going to be more commonplace.
Im more keen on making a comparison between the early Kleins and the Rc200s and see how many Retrobike users have actually killed each manufacturers offerings...statistics would be great.
Maybe start a poll or a list of those that have seen or personally murdered each type?
I personally havent seen any early Kleins that have suffered deaths but have seen a few random pictures of team editions (white, pink and green early Attitudes that have caned it). A lot of the guys here have witnessed quite a few Pace die...
Thoughts please...
