klein adroit 92

Re:

This one sold in january for about $3100 after being sold with no reserve.

The problem with the larger priced items is that the market is much more limited, and someone willing to part with that much coin would probably want a medium sized bike.

(Simply because medium sized bikes would be the easiest to resell in the future)

I would agree whilst sellers of Kleins expectations seem to be getting higher, the market appears to have tanked a couple of years ago and even now mint super lovely ones are struggling to sell at £2k.

Like most things that are a hobby, they have thier lows and highs of activities and at the momment high end bikes which will end up as garage queens (mostly) are struggling to find the amount of people to spend £2k and above for it just to sit on a wall.

Great for the buyer as I suspect they will drop a bit more to about £1,500 for a very very decent one and perhaps a more realistic price.

Re:

This is the one I sold a couple months ago. He got a great price but he bought it to flip. He thought he would double his money but that won't happen. He recently asked if I would help him sell it because he wants it gone. I told him to lower the price but he said he won't take any less than $5000 for the bike and some Klein extras that I sold him.

I also agree that people paying these prices are getting more picky but I think the tanking Euro has quite a bit to do with it. The recent sales of a few great collections doesn't help either. Prices will always go up and down on Kleins but there will always be a demand for original ones.

Euro does not help from this side against US$ or GBP... What I notice is that there are "many" Kleins MC1 for sale in XS and S size but very few, if any, in 20" Klein size (medium by other bikes sizing) ... which is good news for my wallet :P

...and it's back up on Ebay: 1992 Adroit Gator

Does this one have the Strata fork? I presume not as it is not mentioned in Title or Description.

Good fortune to the seller!

Re:

We've also seen that customs and excise are having a greater impact on importing from the states certainly on the larger more likely to be tagged items

In regards to this bike, he took a gamble a flip would pay off I suspect based on some retail sellers and their silly prices that see bikes never sell, and is now regretting that flip gamble.

In the U.K. anything above 2k is struggling and even between 1,500-2,000 is still a limited market for buyers being avaliable

KDM, if you find any MC1 Adroits in that condition for 1500-2000 I would love to hear about them. I would have a much larger collection of that we're the case.
