IIRC Dawes brought Kirk and re-released the Revolution as lower end kit (hence the ones you see around with 300 and 500LX) as let's face it they weren't good enough to compete with a highend alluminium bike, let alone steel.

FWIW, the original Kirk was made from magnesium and tested on 'Tomorrow's World' by running a truck over it without bending it. 'Twas supposed to be very light but too rigid with no 'feel' to it.

Also, IIRC, Steve Poulter rode one of these for a while as a road professional.

Dawes always kept the Kirk branding from what I remember. There is probably a sticker on it somewhere that say something along the lines of being produced by Dawes Cycles @ where ever.
