Kirk Precision info needed

Madara

Retro Newbie
Hey Guys,

I was recently cleaning out my uncles garage and i came across a Kirk Precision racer, its in really good condition and the only thing thats changed is the seat.

Hes given it to me to do some research on and ultimately sell, I cant find much information about the bike bar its history. Does anyone know how much one of these bikes goes for? and what the best course of action would be to sell it??

Re:

Hi, the Kirk Revolution and Precision are "Marmite" bikes, plenty of people hate them, but a few love them.

Good info on this site... http://www.kirk-bicycles.co.uk/Kirk-History.htm

Value really depends on condition and what level of components were fitted, probably your best bet is to have a good Google for prices of recently sold ones and then stick it on eBay with a reserve price you're happy with.

You might get more replies if you message a moderator on the forum and ask them Ti move this to the road bike section.

The road and off-road Precisions aren't as bad as their reputation. This was largely the result of serious failings of the Revolution, the e-stay mountainbike frame that came later.

Have a good look at the plastic rear gear hanger...this often cracks around the mounting bolt.
Also check that the rivets holding the rear brake bridge in place are still good and tight.

Put "Kirk Road" into the Roetrobike search box (Top Bar RH side) and hae a browse around for info.

Frame and forks just sold on eBay for £200 :http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kirk-Precisio ... 2455513178

All the best,
