Now I do apologise if someone here is selling this...but...and this is where
things get fuzzy...to me time warp condition is like it just came out of the showroom.

Anyway, could be good I guess.

Appears to have aged 20 years in the time warp machine.

Also it says the P2s are 1 inch threaded, are they not 1 1/8th inch?

I think he means it looks just like it did after his last ride all those years ago. Same rust, same mud, same original early 90s v-brakes :?

The only timewarp here is the Rocky Horror

I agree with what's been said, but these are in fact the best close-ups I have seen of a '1992' Kilauea, the first run of Kilaueas. It came out mid-way through the 1992 model year, so it didn't appear in the 1992 catalogue and therefore there are no specifications of it written down anywhere.

The photos seem to indicate that the frame is a 93 frame in terms of adopting all of the geometry changes that Kona made for 1993, but it is made of Kona Butted Cromoly, which was the tubeset used on the 1992 Cinder Cone. The 1993 Kilauea was made of Tange Prestige Concept (from which the Explosif was made up until 1992) and the 1993 Cinder Cone was made of basic Tange butted cromoly.

So to be frank, it seems that this '1992' Kilauea wasn't quite such a high-level bike as the 1993, but still quite a nice bike. And if he would just clean it, photograph it in natural light and restrict himself to describing it as very original, he would do it a lot more favours.

I didnt realise there was a 92 Kilauea - thanks Anthony. So it was basically a Cinder Cone with better groupset.
