Cameron's photo op at a hospital goes, well, a bit fubar.

Mind you, truth be told, were I patient, I'd have oodles more respect for a doctor who kicked off over politicing where the medical people should be in charge.

That said, erstwhile doc loses a lot of points for the bow tie. Some things are just wrong.

good on him, it would be bad enough being in hospital ill but to be then surrounded by these feckers would send you over the edge- I like the bow tie too.

Totally agree with the doc on this one (modulo the bow tie, natch)

Cameron was actually in the right, tie removed, sleeves rolled up, it seemed to be the camera crew he was objecting to.

And I bet none of them used the hand gels that are placed everywhere throughout the hospitals, either. I had a tour of a hospital ward in the UK and couldn't believe they didn't insist that everyone used them. Placed no doubt at great expense by every door and ignored by all.

A certain non-medical Doctor on the BBC would probably take issue with that (indeed, I think the line "bow ties are cool" appeared a couple of episodes back in the current run).

We've been in and out of a paediatric oncology unit a few times these past weeks and they don't make a big deal out of hand sanitizing either..
