But Mine is a 1989/90 K2  ............I like it lots!

I've had one from new in '94, except for 2 years where I sold it (young, new baby, needed cash, etc) to a guy who rode it once then bought it back off him for £300 less than I sold it :D . I've done everything on it from XC to DH and it's still in really good condition (the frame). Components have worn out along the way but it's my favourite bike. Other's have come and gone but this one is staying.
A few things have been changed since the pic was taken but is essentially the same.

I've got the '92 Avalanche – and a '91? Karakoram (pre-flipflop stem era), Bother are lovely bikes, though the Avalanche is a slightly more springy, lively ride.

I've got one in the lounge even as we speak (type). It isn't mine, I'm just refitting the original LX cantilevers and putting new gear cables on. It is ink blue and made of Tange MTB tubes.
The groupset would appear to be 100% black LX. I don't know if they are original but the forks are Quadra 21R and the rims are Mavic M231. Seems a good bike although unless I put some nice SPDs on it I won't be able to do much more than test the brakes.
How do people ride flats? These are PlanetX and have vicious metal studs on them which look more nasty than a porcupines' arse! One slip and it would be off to A & E I reckon!

OK Kaiser you've got your eye on one, go on admit it !!!!!!!!!!!

Project Stumpjumper been dumped for a GT has it ?

:D :D :D :D :D

  no no project stumpie is nearly there, but I have bought a Karakorum frame and forks for a commuter. Impulsive ebay buy and not sure what I was getting, I've got a full lx groupo and some odds and sods to build it.

All in all everyone seems to like them and they do look good with the skinny tubes and fat tyres, so looking forward to getting it now :D

My mate had, i was gonna say red but there was a choice of colour wan't there? ;) he had a BLACK one in 1991, when I got got my Suntour equipped Tequesta, propper sturdy old beasts, early budget freeriders. traded my in for lighter and livlier Orange Prestige.

How much did those pierced stems hurt ya knees aswell?! ouch :D

The Tequila Sunrise is the one color for Karakoram!
That said, I'd prefer having Team Scream yellow Bravado instead...
