Retro Newbie
Hello guys,

I'm new to retro bike forum. I'm from Budapest, Hungary. Recently I've got a Kästle Degree 7.5 bike and I decided to restore and then to use it. Really comfortable and good to ride. If anyone knows anything about THIS model, the degree 7.5, please let me know! I did not find any information about this edition, just similar ones.

Cheers, Gyula

Welcome to the site 8)

Kaastle are very rare here in the UK, don't think they were ever imported. Any idea what the frame is made from?

Hello John,

I've checked all the decals on the bike and also the Shimano catalogue from 1997. The decals say that this bike was assembled in Italy, and the accessories are all 1997 Shinamo LX and an XT rear derailleur. As far as I can see, the frame was made from aluminium, the weight of the bike is surprisingly low and the profile of the lower tube of the triangle is also not circular. No other information is on the bike. I suppose that the Sram gripshift is not an original accessory.

Cheers, Gyula

Szia fdoc!

I've found your topic about the blue Kastle, just haven't recognized the hungarian plate on the car! :). Soon I will bring the bike and start to restore it. It is in almost excellent condition, so I hope that not too much work and money will be necessary.
