Just Collected for the collection - Retro Full Sus ? ?

Hi All, Just Bought this, I have never seen one before and couldnt resist with the XTR ! I have never been into full bounce but its yet another for the collection :lol:

Its a Club Roost V CV 2/100

Does any one know any history or info on this ? A date would be really helpfull. 8)

Its has the following bits

XTR shifters 8 speed,XTR Brake levers, XTR rear Mech XTR M900 Chainset

XT M738 hubs, XT cassette and non retro XT V's

Fred Salmon Deep Dish Rims

Marzocchi 3 DH adjustable forks

FSA Orbit headset

All is in good working order just needs a Clean and tweak.

it might be older then 96. it looks like it has m900 cranks, and the xtr kit on the bike is funky. Usually you don't see a company spec xtr seperate brake levers and shifters.
 
Weird, a classic old shool full sus that bares a direct comparison on looks at least to a modern cheapo such as a Halfords Apollo.

I find it interesting that URT framed suspension bikes are considered
C%@P in todays market place but were once high end and drooled over.

Must build up my 1999 Saracen URT bike and hit the trails at Glentress.

Hmm, nice. Never seen a Club Roost bike, only their components. Haven't seen any Time pedals for a while too.
 
that needs a club roost handlebar with a nice brace on it

not that i have one for sale or owt.
 
They were also sold as the Univega RAM series bikes in about 97/98. You might find more info searching for those :wink:

At first glance i wondered if it was a rebadged halford's special ;)

I remember when they came out, people were really raving about them.
The ram 990 had the new crossmax wheels and judy sl too.
