Just a picture from 1939 - but a fantastic one

Had a go at it in Paintshop Pro. Basically I removed the noise whilst trying to preserve the sharpness a bit. That sorted out the cars, bike and Mr Vervaecke, but it completely removed the detail from the surface. So I pasted the original underneath it and then removed the surface from the edited picture. I then doubled the resolution.

At the end of the day it'll always be a low-quality original, so there's only so much I can do without completely re-creating the entire picture (which is a herculean task really). Hopefully you can print this :

Thanks for all the comments and efforts guys. I was more lamenting the fact that the pic was too small to make into a a full size poster print than I was asking you kind folks to make the image bigger. I do a lot of Photoshop work and I know that when it comes to pixels you only get out what you put it.
