Feature Bike John Tomac Raleigh Signature Edition in Titanium and Carbon

UK based online retailer Kinetic Rush have dug out their John Tomac Raleigh for display in their Leamington shop, John Atkins Cycles. What this means for us is they've done a whole load of great pictures of this iconic machine, enjoy the images :D This Tomac Raleigh was purchased direct from Raleigh UK by the store owner back in the 90s and is believed to be a Merlin built model.

Check the Kinetic Rush blog for a full set of images and details.

Nice bike :)
just some friendly advice, this bike above is 1 of the 60 Litespeed built models that were available to buy.
Mombat in the US has the same bike, with different components.

The earlier Merlin built frames werent available to the general public. There are numerous differences.
The Merlin frame is a satin finish. the Litespeed is bead blasted.
The Merlin has a press fit bearing bottom bracket with grease ports, the Litespeed has a threaded bottom bracket shell.
The Litespeed has a smaller constant diameter wishbone. The Merlin has a larger diameter that changes from round to oval at the seatstays.
The Litespeed has the classic 2hole dropouts that all Litespeeds of the early 90s used. The Merlin has the more open dropout design.

thanks :)

So nice !!!!
But it's not Merlin's dropout, sorry.
This frame would be made by litespeed.
But it's still an amazing bike !

Cheers,

I used to work in John Atkins in Leamington about 10 years ago and remember this hanging on the wall there!
That was when John Atkins was in the smaller shop on Radford Road not the newer one which is way bigger.

I worked at Raleigh back then and had to look after John for a day when he came over for a visit and photo shoot. Nice guy.
