Hi all,

Anyone got any details on this frame? Not much info on John Perks that I can find online. Any thoughts on quality or tubing?

appears mid-to-late eighties:

seat tube w/b

incasso brake mount

under bb cable route

presence of eyelets fore and aft suggests concept may be more "sports" than "racing"

handsome piece of work :D

@juvela @3wheeler7 Sorry to be a pain guys, im looking at a Perks frame also but cannot tell from the photo whether it is standard 531/main tubes only/competition and the seller is not being massively helpful other than confirming it is 531 tubing... Have specifically asked for photos now but just on the off chance he doesnt respond - Either of you two got any ideas? I'm thinking its not 531c which is a shame as I would definitely take it if it is.

Seems to be somewhat racey geometry but lacks 531 stickers on the forks. I think its a full RX100 groupset as well so I guess it could go either way... Hopefully seller will respond with a picture as I have asked directly for one but any input appreciated.

Kind regards

Looks like a Reynolds 531 Competition decal so it’s possibly the lightest tubing made at that time.. possibly 89-93……🤔
Im in inclined to believe its 531 renovated.

The spacing for the wording on the competition decals looks much closer to the yellow border.

Cant imagine someone would fake a John Perk's frame though? I also cant imagine it would be 531ST without the option of a rear pannier rack which leads me to thinking it was originally a 531c frame
