Well Chris has done lot better than me I've got 1990 frame with 07 cranks, rear mech, seat pin rear hub..... with 80's retro brakes, front mech, front forks, front hub & spd's
So well done Chris. Plus this is no garage queen. If a Queen then yes dress it up and don't use it. IMHO

Thanks for the reply's, its funny how it devides poeple though.

I do have the origional XT Groupset with Campy Thor rims from when i picked up the bike, as most of this is well worn i thought id replace it with a M900 groupo i had going spare.

As it has been pointed out thats what you did when it came to up-grading parts.

Plus the origional Xt shifters are pants!!
