'Freedom of speech', IMO, doesn't include the right to publicly air peoples personal lives for the sake of selling news. The point of freedom of speech is to enable people to have an opinion, and allow it to be heard. Snooping into peoples personal affairs that have no bearing or impact on people that are not directly involved is morally reprehensible.

Doesn't matter who they are, they're entitled to a privacy, especially when things are 'Alleged'.

I've seen the dam busters loads of times, and it never offended me. But why should I be afraid of mentioning the dogs name ?

Has anyone lately watched re-runs of the old Dam Busters ? The name nigger has been edited out of the film :facepalm:

Its because of this racist shit that Peter Jackson is unable to carry on making the 'new' Dam Busters!
He has been told he is not allowed to call the dog 'Nigger' in his film and the code name 'Nigger'
can't be used too! The code name was used when any of the dams was breached! For anyone

personally i'm not offended as such by the above post, (although the one written above just as i posted is abit out of order i think) i accept that even though the above word is not acceptable in modern times using the word in the context of a film from years ago is not aimed at anyone so is it an insult? i'm not sure to be honest. i would prefer it not be used though but at the end of the day the film and the dog character are part of history and would probably be best left there.

i must admit i do hate it when old stuff is changed to suit the more recent times, we all accept that things were different back then, and watch films like that with that in mind.

regarding Clarkson, yawn . . . he's an average bloke, do i think he's a racist? no, exaggerated idiot who generally says things for (comedy?) effect? yes. in this case it's the papers and internet blowing it up out of proportion, so they've done their job in getting us talking about him. well done them.
