fooking track cars make me laugh . if your so good why not race ? all that money not to overtake in corners

you don't half spout a lot of rubbish...

can you also stop posting NSFW images without thread warnings thanks...

given i have friends in the business of car preparation as well as others who do the track thing why cant i find it amusing that very few get into the competitive side ?

shouldnt you be working while at work ? funny idea i know

.

Ah the old track day or race chesnut.....Basically if you can afford to throw away about £3000 a month and it not bother you racing is for you.
Track days are massively cheaper. So cost is usually the deciding factor.
My mate races a 500+bhp escort cosworth. Front discs are £630 a pair and need changing about every 500 racing miles, which if you do a meeting every weekend is about once every 6 weeks  .
Back to topic, i used to be jealous of a guy in school who's parents used to pay for him to do motorcross. I still see him and his knees and shoulders are really bad to the point where he may have to give up work at 35. I on the other hand have only had my mountain bike to fall off(and a motorbike but I don't fall off them) and i'll be working for a good while yet. Not sure what point i'm trying to make......

It's a hiding to nothing comparing yourself to other people.

Where I come from nearly everyone is incredibly rich. Doesn't bother me now, but it really bothered me as a kid, because all of them had nicer stuff than me, and I used to wear hand-me-downs from my older sisters. Thinking about it, that's probably why I am now a bike collector.

But you know what? I speak to them now, and they've got problems, just like me. Some of them are very unhappy. If you have no money, you worry about not having money, but if you do, you worry about people taking it away from you.

The race is long, and in the end it's with yourself.

Also something that came to me over previous musings, if these people you are pally with are good guys deep down, not show offs or nasty heads, then great its better they have it than some selfish nasty nugget. ;)

Dolly Partons Technicolour dreamcoat song is a good one for this.

Enjoy the richness. 8)
