Hello all,

Just got hold of a JD Components suspension stem that I've just fitted to my Raleigh White Lightning. Looks a bit more sophisticated than a Girvin Flexstem and has adjustable damping and head angle so we'll see what its like at Glentress tomorrow.

Does anyone have any experience of these stems, know of any weaknesses, have knowledge of how common or rare they are and even any history of JD Components ?

All info, any info is good !

Cheers

JD is one of the larger contract component makers in Taiwan and also sell products under the Tranz-X label. Most of the items they make are of very decent quality. Same company was behind the beginnings of the Razor alloy sidewalk scooters that were bg for a while. They've supplied products with some pretty MAJOR component names on them. So if people....say like Ritchey.... go to them to have their products produced you know their engineering and product quality has to be decent. I've spent some time in their booth at the Taipei show over the years and sourced a number of aftermarket handlebars, stems, bottle cages and barends from them and also spec'd their products on bikes.
