Agreed to buy this unseen - all I wanted was the forks/wheels really. BUT as unsentimental as I am I don't think I ought to break it up. Apparently and entirely believeably FIFTY miles from new! It's all there as far as I can tell. 400LX and Diacompe XCE. "Spectre" saddle, bars and stem (altho' the last is too long for me).

It's really very pretty and on a v short pedal rides like new.

Looks mint
Big fan of Jamis bikes. Got an 88 Dakar and a 93 Dragon. I'd love that water bottle if you do split!!

I'd say thats later than 89 though judging by the cable routing?

"Near mint", I think!

Does this rather neat (indeed almost lovely compared with most "solutions") rear cable hanger fix the year? I gather that at least one ID'd component date code is early 1990 - altho' the original owner reckoned an '89 model!

Well, this is the routing on my 93 Dragon...

Very similar. I contacted Jamis about my Dragon and got a response from their head of sales! Very helpfull with dating and supplying a full original spec for the bike :D

Now get it in BOTM quick! Be great to see two Jamis in there :D

Somehow doesn't seem right to do so. All I did was buy it!! Nor do I understand component heirarchy sufficiently well enough to know whether eligible.

OTOH it IS very pretty! Have to decide before I change the stem - too long as it is.

I wouldn't worry about that. I can see a few in there that have 'just bought it'! Its about being in the right place at the right time
Its perfect for mid-range imo. Its the model below the Dakar that I've entered and I'd say mine is the topend of mid-range (if that makes sense!)

If you do swap the stem and want to shift the spectre one, I'll take it off your hands. Same for the saddle
