Jag S type

My Father bought himself an S-type.Cost him i think about 12k[used]
Sold a few years later[as he is too disabled to use it]
Sold for £1500
Excellent condition, full service, low mileage[under 50,000],very well maintained and sells for only a grand and a half

Expensive on fuel which is not going to magically drop in price,Expensive on insurance.Repairs aren't cheap either.
I don't drive, but if i did it wouldnt be an S-type due to the costs to run and the sell-on value is less then a Trek made Klein :?

Presuming you mean the new s type, they are very good cars. However I was put off buying one due to the poor build quality of my dads XK8.

The 2.7 is a good engine, though no where near as good as the new 3ltr in the XF.

If you can then save up for the XF, other wise, go for it. You wont regret it and youll enjoy it.

If you only do low mileage though then get an R, the money you save buying it and the grin it will put on your face will make it worth while

Lol I would love the R however I do about 40miles a day to and from work currently, until I've been driving a few years I don't think the insurance company would like it and finally I think I'd probably get carried away and lose my license in a car like that.

Is it possible to tune a diesel? Lol

Drop me a PM about tuning and insurance!

I shall do that, although I won't be able to afford one for a long time yet.

I don't think they're ugly cars especially when you compare them to what else you can buy for the same money.

my dads got the 4.2 v8 auto. does about 300 yards a year

borrowed it for a trip to wales, and it was a true cruiser. no good round the twisties though.

That surprises me, I hammered mine around the West Coast of Scotland at imaginary speeds without ever feeling unhinged.

Ran forty odd miles on the run flat as well without noticing it! :)
