foo fighters.

bought and loved the first (self titled?) album and like a few songs i have heard since but i havent actually got any other albums.

i think i saw them live once and they didnt sound great - put me off a bit but seen some more recent live footage and i think i was a bit hasty.

so where's the best place to start?

im the same dave....i saw them at a rainy/windy ozzfest in about 98 (give or take).....utterly awful......i have never been bothered since......in december i saw a cobain documentary and it had cool footage of dave grohl drumming with nirvana, it was so good i thought about giving the foo's another chance.....

the 2nd album, the color and the shape, is the best. then their most recent then the one before that.

i remember sitting in my mates room listening to the first album on release day with a mix of anger that he dared to start another band, and excitement in hearing him sing. he sang on a nirvana b side and i quite liked his voice.

i caught the back end of that on the wireless last night - that is what piqued my interest

Download vevo (or go to the website) and watch some off their live stuff on the David Letterman show last year. This should change your mind about how good they are live.
Best Rock band around at the moment IMHO.

I agree with the above, very hit and miss in general.

I really want to like them more, just cant bring myself to fully commit. I find the Foo's a bit 'rock by numbers'

But then they go and release a super catchy single to add to the others and I find myself at Milton Keynes bowl rocking out.

Dave kinda has 'it' though, doesnt he. That, and an ever drooping neck/chin.
That's right Dave, the beard will cover it..
