Is Vinyl on the Revival? BBC Vinyl day

According to an article on Record Collector Xmas issue sales are up by 40% on chart issue vinyl up to october 2011. Radioheads "king of limbs" topped the list

im a northern soul nutter and the 7inch records are the dearist of all music frANK WILSON ..DO I LOVE YOU (INDEED I DO) went for 18 grand a guy named kenny burrell re morgaged his house so i would say never

CD for the car. Not bought vinyl in ages cos I thought it'd disappeared to all intents and purposes.
At home I've a Linn Axis (ex-exhibition) deck that still gets used though.
And a Syrinx PU3b that's back in a box cos some idiot lost the anti-skating weight.
I used to have an LP12 - lovely! But they're so expensive now!

Got a Linn LP12 which hardly gets used these days :( Vinyl sounds so much better than CD but CD is so convenient.

I have a ProJect Debut and 1210s (plus a CDJ, but I like the feel of that), I would estimate that 85% of the new music I get is on vinyl, almost all from thrift shops/markets. Luckily I like odd 80s synth pop.

Its not a conversation to have here, but I believe that like 'actual books' (as opposed to E-Books) there is something inherently superior to a 12" record and sleeve, both aurally and in having the tangible object - and thats why its still selling and will not go away.

Sales are actually going up!

Yes, because all the Young Enterprise children are buying them to make into clocks for the wall for the 40 somethings to buy.

Yep, bunch of A-holes

They're the same people that ruin £1000s worth of skateboard deck drilling holes in the middle and making them into clocks
