is this really a klein.

Haha yeah... There's still a debate there, but yes it's an ironic one!

Legally it's a Klein

And yes Sinnerman knows a good frame

I'm still once again amazed at corporate behaviour, Trek already have commodity bike brands why turn Klein into another one???

Edit: Above question is rhetorical

And i can honestly say they sold by the bucketload, and i do mean by the bucketload, and i have never seen a frame failure let alone a faliure due to craftsmanship.

Like most people here I wanted a Klein from the first time I saw them in around 1991. I got into road riding  a few year back and bought a Klein Quantum Pro Carbon/Aluminium in 2004: it broke after a couple of years, cracked through the seat tube about five inches above the BB, not even at the weld. Took it back to the LBS who were great, sorted a replacement frame for free (Klein lifetime guarantee) and that one failed after about a year at a carbon/aluminium weld. They then replaced it with a Trek and that's been fine.

Wouldn't waste money on a Trek-era Klein. I was very disappointed.

I suspect as with all bike companies there will be failures, its the law of averages regardless of how good a frame builder/manufacturer you are.

But my experience after 100s of retail sales, (with exception of paint warranty work) i didnt have any breakages, perhaps i was just lucky..

The amount of ironic events in this thread are staggering!

1) is it a Klein? No Hahaha look at that silly guy there with his BSO finger beaker

Flip: Yes it is a Klein!

2) Ah but it's a bogus Trek dumb-down of a Klein

Flip 2, yes/no it's a Klein.. but not really

3) Quality stuff though...

Flip 3, two Trek/Kleins broken in quick succession...

4) Replaced by an actual badged TREK

= Flip 5, job's a good 'un

Crazy stuff

What i find quite amusing about the whole thing, is that "we the people" deem Trek to be a bad brand.....,

Or is it

Looking what they did to Klein it's no surprise. Destroyed a classic mtb that was years ahead.

Should have left alone to make a classic allu bike which would be selling as before they got hold of it

You mean it isn't a bad brand then? If I take the carbon Y models out of the equation, I can't think of a single Trek that's even remotely interesting. They were always 5 years behind everyone else.
