Is this MINI the world's most expensive mirror?

Bought a car without checking insurance first , what a tool . One of those people that announces " well , I'm taking this to the paper ! "

It's Nottingham , any car will have a hefty premium

'The car's shiny paint makes it an obvious target for thieves'

That's a dumb statement, surely a unique paint job like that will deter thieves but not the really stupid ones.

I remember Audi doing a showcar for one of the motorshows some years ago, which had a mirror finish like this...

...And I also remeber quite clearly that it wasn't road legal in the UK because of it. Don't ask me why, it's just one of those silly things I have remembered....

That wasn't a wrap though. There were a few, at least one was polished aluminium panels making a big play on the construction. Jaguar did it within recent memory with (I think) one of the XJ's. Others are almost anodised in the bare metal (I don't know the correct term - like covering the metal in another metal but a shiny one)

This however takes the biscuit. £38k. For a MINI. Covered in shiny plastic.

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

What a tool.

It'll be a dazzle hazard health n safety thing I guess.

He should've had it stated as black on the log book and just pretended he'd polished it, and polished it, and polished it. If he told the insurer he's a RetroBike member they'd understand and accept that as possible.

top gear recently built an eco car on a tvr chassis that they then covered in 'raw/n*ked' metal which shined in the eyes of one of the presenters when driven around
