Is this behaviour kosher?

I've often had a though about the EBay outing...

If someone is seriously gonna bid, they could say so in the thread so we don't compete against one another...

So I posted a thread of my own on a bike I'm definitely shooting for and said so...

But I wonder is this behaviour condoned? Or am I bang out of order?

but it's an auction? if you really want something, saying so doesn't stop someone else from really wanting it aswel.

if i see something i want i don't "out" it but chances are someone else has already found it or outed it. but anyway some one could have found it who isn't a member here and started bidding on it, shock horror, they might win it!

at the end of the day it's a public auction and anyone can bid regardless of how much you want it.

:)

Correct. I know i have bid against others from here and won and they i'm sure have beat me

If I'm hoping to win something special I keep shtum and hope no-one else outs it.
Outing something and expecting others to refrain from bidding is a bit rich, and I ignore such requests entirely. I expect most other people do too.

The only reason for outing stuff, to my mind, is if I'm not interested in it but think others might be.

Yes, that's fairly plain to see, I just felt a bit brash stating it and hadn't seen any instances of other people doing similar, but I gather now that it is not that unusual

There are plenty of people that buy things for the sake of it or because it is cheap.

Maybe they wouldn't if they knew how much you wanted it. . . . . .

I also agree that if I did want it, knowing you did would not stop me bidding. . . . . .maybe.

At the end of the day you have nothing to lose by stating your intentions early.

i routinely come second to some fecker or other on this forum   . While people may state they want something it would never put me off bidding on it, well maybe sometimes, im a sucker for a sob story or good unicorn hunt tale

I don't out stuff I want and have stated I defo want something when someone else has outed it. I've also curbed the inner hoarder if someone has said they want something that I'm watching because I think it might go cheap. Wouldn't get nawty if I was out bid by a member on something I've said I want.

Hope that makes sense.

All makes perfect sense and all opinions sensible and cool

Here goes: Every second post I've prattled on about the old brown/red crackle Courier Comp I used to have, when I was just a wee lad and how awesome it was to me and I have been looking for ages and ages (sob) Any good???

However I expect there will be plenty of competition from outside this forum in any event

I haven't outed and stated my intention to try and screw anybody over...

The last MF I won was outed by LGF and I was very interested, it appeared a few others were but said nothing definite, in the dying seconds I bid the start bid and won it

So in this case, although we'd talked about it none of us were actually bidding...

And maybe... Just maybe... There isn't too much sense in us pushing the bills up for one another?

like most things in life
if you know what it is ,you can deal with it
if you know the seller , ask . it never hurts
