thanks as always

I don't think it is. Didn't the Team Issue have the gear cable stops brazed onto the headtube rather than the downtube?
That fork's too long for it as well! :D

Well spotted. The High end Marins, including the Team Issue, all had cable stops on the headtube between 1992 and 1995; possibly later too.
Have a look in the archive for the catalogues: --> http://www.retrobike.co.uk/gallery2/v/M ... atalogues/

And yes, that fork does look a bit too long.

great stuff,
i emailed the seller with a couple of questions
he says the frame is steel,no dents or cracks and he wouldn't let it go for less than £300!
i've put it in the ebay section but the link is here

ti

there is a chance of it being a pine mountain or eldridge due to the less bulky derailleur dropout and, colour. i'm not totally convinced it has been resprayed either, well not within a year or so anyway as there is barend damage to top tube and a few chips under the faux team issue decals.

the ultimate tell-all is the serial number. it looks like a 'fairly' fabrication and should have a number 2 or 3 after the F in serial number.

if it has anything else then it is a real imposter

foreground. pine mountain 1995

background. team marin 1995. for cable stay differences.
