Sounds like one of those quotes from the bible like Ezekiel 25:17

John 7:3:12

John hath spoken - praise be the Lord

Exactly - you know its the gospel!

Christians have John the Revelator
Retrobikers have John the Administrator.

Our Retrobike, who art in the garage
hallowed be thy manufacturer,
thy singletracks come
thy downhills be done
on the road as it is on terrain
Give us this day our daily ride
And forgive us our tumbles,
as we forgive those who tumble against us.
And lead us not into temptation
but deliver us from modern bikes.

For thine is the Tioga disc,
and the rigid fork, and the cantilever
For ever and ever
Amen

That deserves some sort of front page exposure... brilliant.

I have never been one for religion but I have seen the light (its an old cateye running off a bottle cage mounted nicad pack that only holds 8 minutes charge these days.)

Right, on more then.

Raging_Bulls 25-17 :

The path of the Retrobiker is beset on all sides
by the inequities of hydraulic brakes
and the incapability of modern bikes.

Blessed is he, who in the name of 7-speed cassettes and quill stems,
shepherds the steel bikes through the valley of darkness,
for he is truly his rigid fork's keeper and the finder of NOS bike parts.

And I will strike down upon thee with great endos and furious wheelies
those who attempt to race and defeat my bikes.
And you will know my tyre is a Panaracer when it kicks up dirt upon thee.
