Is my lx front mech plastic?

I’m building a bike packing bike.

The current LX front mech is in ‘as new’ condition.

But is it plastic and if so how durable is it?

Thinking I might chuck a XT on there

Pretty sure the M560 was metal, not plastic? After they phased out DX this was next in line to XT so no real need to change IMO.

its a plastic called 'paint', very robust. It was used to hold many 1970's and 80's cars together long past their shelf life

Just painted metal. It will last.
