Is it worth the effort? To me of course it is!

Glorious! Front and rear spoke reflectors at different diameters is making me twitch though. :?

Good Point... Maybe I'll take the reflectors off the wheels altogether and put them on the handlebars pointing left or right for traffic or runaway children or maybe just point them at me saying here I am.... I'm the target.

By the way this bike stands up without the sausage, pump or red arrow. ref your Gran Sport thread. :)
Aaaaaah. Now that’s magic.

 My wife and daughter have kick stands too!

That's come out very well indeed.

Nowt wrong with a bit of recycling (in both senses of the word) and I'm glad you're enjoying it. The all my own work feeling when you're riding about is nice isn't it?

Sure is!!

An Autumn Ride to Brick Beach 28/10/19.

The bricks shown were all used to form the coastal defences and are the result of the World War II bombings of Liverpool. Now historians search this beach for broken tiles pottery etc and links to our not so distant past.

Thanks THM and Alex for your comments. This refurbished bike makes a super little tourer. Well made and now in mint condition., and yes most satisfying that it is all my own work.

Nice work! I have just bought a routier and the previous owner has changed the seatpost which is basically too tight for the frame. It states 26mm on the post which is the approximate dimension I get when measuring the inside of the frame.

I'm new to the world of retro bikes so I don't really know anything about post sizes. I'm just wondering what size post be be best for this frame? 25.6/25.8? i.e. what is the max tolerance before the post is too small? Also what is the original post to seat connection on this bike?

Any tips, advice etc would be massively appreciated.
