Or do you find it annoying when ebay listings state?

"Item is advertised elsewhere so I reserve the right to blah, blah, blah"

So you email them and ask for their Buy it Now price and they tell you

"Oh no. There's no BIN price"

What, is it advertised in their local rag as guess the price?

Rant over, bedtime now

Yep

........ or how about "I paid $3478 for this bike 3yrs ago"

...... or this old cherry "Retail Price of $3478"

What you paid for it or the retail price has nothing to do with what it's worth now.

Or the other classic,,"I just want to get back what I have spent on it".....I have spent much more on my bikes than I would ever get back,,,Then again I do know the difference between worth and value,,,Yes, it was worth every penny I spent and more,,can't put a price on how much pleasure they have given me. Rant over! :D
Mark.
very happy ,very skint and still looking at the for sale section. 8)

You are not the only one annoyed by this.

I saw a road bike recently with all that sort of thing, and the seller went on to say that if it did not make a decent amount then he would keep it etc blah blah. Amazingly, it sold for an unusually high price. I'm currently waiting for it to be relisted!

I saw another bike at a ridiculous price recently, where the owner 'wanted to make his money back', so had listed the bike with a BIN in the thousands, for a bike that rarely makes more than a couple of hundred. I doubt he got his money back.

Agreed. Saw a listing with the good old 'advertised elsewhere' on it so contacted them and ask where it was advertised and how much it was up for. Response I got was it'll be advertised next week, which would take it past the end of the auction  They also didn't know what it was worth but said it was 'super rare' so asked me to make an offer

At least they're actually selling the stuff...

I particularly dislike the guy from Florida with his meh Porsche bike up for £2000:
BELONGS IN A MUSEUM...THIS LISTING IS MORE FOR SHOW THAN SALE, BUT HEY IF YOU GOT THE CASH. NOT ALOT OF PEOPLE GET TO SEE MY COLLECTION, PLEASE ENJOY.
Tosser.

All the best,

Annoying

Yeah, its really annoying, especially if they cant give you a BIN price. It is also against ebays selling regulations, so report it and ebay will remove it. Easiest way to stop it

Jamie
(then messege the seller and ask if its still for sale as its not on ebay any more)
