I agree with Brock and Sinnerman, 89 Clockwork, not seen one though with the twin downtube bottle cage mounts though

The wishbone/seatpost intersection is clearly higher up the tube on the o/p's bike, different again to the illustrated early clockworks

Lemon? Looks more Muddy Fox so far. Aside of geometry, there's a couple of frame features similar to the '89 Frontiera (see twin bottle cage mounts on down tube) in this BOTM link:

I did have a look through "join the orange clockwork club" thread & there were some scanned photo's of one that looked very similar to it & the one in the link above but the detail was a little fuzzy.
I suppose now I have to work out which is the best way to revive it, touch up the paint on the frame, then paint the forks & get it into some kind of order with the most sympathetic parts I have lying around!
Once again thank you to everyone for all your opinions & helpful advice!

Think I'd do as you mention. Get the forks painted and use the same colour to touch up the frame. Deore group set would look sweet on that.

I've made a start, forks are prepped, dug some bits out of the shed & have aquired a few bits from my local tip whilst doing a run for the missus
