is it a sin to zasker decal a 90s avalanche

I'd say it's a sin. Even if nobody else notices you will always know. I collect old video games and you somtimes get tempted to make scanned covers for rare unboxed games so they look nice on your shelf, but then it will just play on your mind.

Hmmm, I did that for Radiant Silvergun and Panzer Dragoon Saga, can't say I've lost any sleep over it.

@ oldschool:

Just polish the hell out of the Avalanche and put some random GT decals on the head tube / down tube, or you can ask one of the Avalanche aluminum owners on here to photograph their decals and get Gil to make you a set.

Why is it you see so many Zaskars without decals any way? You rarely see any one peeling the decals off of an explosif for example. I mean I am no fan of GT (It's the vauxhall nova of the bike world to me), but I wouldnt be so ashamed of owning one that I had to peel the decals off it.

The Vauxhall Nova of the bike world ??

My god Rob what a load of horse shit !! Just because they dont come up square like your weird fettish!!

Oooops ! Am about to do exactly the same :D .....not because I'm ashamed of it....just got mismatched and badly applied graphics from someone elses previous restoration efforts......

Meanwhile back on subject.....was about to go for an Avalanche before taking the more costly plunge with a Zaskar.....nothing to be ashamed of an Avalanche - stick with the original graphics if you can find them......At the end of the day once it's covered in mud you won't be looking at them anyway :D

Just an opinion obviously

Seems I hadnt realised they were not originally laquered over, so yeah I suppose the decals would come off easy.

Alright, I'll take the nova comment back, stick an SRI badge on it and plant it back up there. As I said, its my opinion of em. I have always found them odd and never got the whole zaskar (and wider GT) cult thing.

just another £0.002 worth...'cause it's relatively easy to build a fairly indestructible 24lb hardtail for a fraction of the cost of a modern equivalent might be one of its attractions
