One other thing occurred to me.
If we have his address and the documentation, it is possible to place individual civil claims through the Small Claims Court.

While other avenues need to be exhausted first, it might be worth considering.

UPDATE: The part I was waiting for arrived today! :shock: It was postmarked the 30th October, so I'm assuming he posted it on Friday after my heated emails on Thursday. :?

So I have the part - over a month late, but as they say, better late than never.

Yet to check condition as I literally nipped in the house and glanced in the package, but fingers crossed it is as described.

Seems pretty sad that he went through all the grief that he has, lied and lied but was going to send the part anyway. Why not just say sorry mate I'm not going to get this in the post for a while, please be patient, rather than all the bullsh*t!?

As for Police involvment I'm hoping we can avoid it in this case. However if anyone is in the Police and can advise what action could be taken in similar cases can they please get in touch.

Is it possible to ban someone from the site by IP address vs. just User Name? Wouldn't want lightning to strike the same place 3 times.

I don't like the idea of restricted trading or verification, i think it will put many genuine newbie sellers off BUT the idea of mandatory feedback link at the top of the thread is a good idea.

Most peoples IP addresses are dynamic, changes every time the router is reset. There maybe a close pattern, for example each ISP will have similar first digits. So don't think it will work.

I'm not a super techie network geek, but I believe there has to be something about the IP address, or maybe MAC address of the router itself, that your wireless provider needs in order to know you're their customer. In the US, the authorities frequently use IP/MAC/whatever it is, to track down child porn offenders, catch the "CraigsList Killer", etc. It can be done but I'm not sure exactly what they use.
