Is '96 Explosif headtube 1" or 1 1/8"? The seller claims that it has 1 inch threaded headset, forks and something like an ahead adapter (look at the photo below).

The headset looks like an Impact one used in Konas.

I was thinking that Kona's from years has 1 1/8" headtubes, but maybe I'm wrong. Please be kind, I know that's silly question.

Thanks in advance everyone

It's definitely an Explosif, and it definitely has a 1 1/8" head tube. I suppose it's possible that the fork has a 1" steerer, and the headset has adapter/reducer cups. Couldn't you ask the seller to clarify?

I asked him and he told me, that he was even in the bikeshop to ask about fork replacement and they told him that frame has 1 inch steerer and its hard to find something to fit in. So he claims, by the phone, that he tried and its 1".

But I'm not sure how precise they were with the inspection of the frame - here in Poland in some bikeshop there are very incompetent people ;). Also I dont know nothing about that seller's technical abilities ;).

So I think I should stick with retrobikefella's knowlegde. :)

Oh I know, could someone measure the outer diameter of the Explosif headtube (maybe even other steel Konas have the same diameter), so the seller could do the same and prove it or not its a one inch.

Looks like it still has the original 1 1/8th control centre fitted. They are wrong, we are right, just buy it!

(Don't say I said so though!)

It should be between 36mm and 37mm.
